For those of you who don’t know about Shia LaBeouf’s ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ protest, it was an Anti-Trump protest and it really wasn’t any more complicated than him and his protesters chanting the words ‘he will not divide us.’
Sounds pretty peaceful right?
The protest started on Trump’s inauguration day when he basically set up a webcam on a museum wall and started chanting this all-day. Fans started to show up and helped him carry that on round the clock.
And now, well, the protest has been shut down. And no, the reason is not it’s ‘revolutionary nature,’ but it’s actually violence.
And this is why. This peaceful chanting slowly turned to this:
The Museum of the Moving Image in NYC says it had to turn off the cam mounted on one of its walls because it had become a “flashpoint for violence.” Shia was arrested on January 25 when he allegedly got physical with a protester who showed up to oppose the movement.
The violent nature of the protest ended up dividing the followers too, and it became an aggressive way to get rid of the frustration of Trump’s election rather than being the peaceful protest that was meant to spread a positive message.
This turned into ‘redpills and bluepills’ and actually started causing more problems among people with different ideas and political alignments.
This guy has an analysis on how this thing actually ended up ‘dividing’ his own followers and boy, does his logic holds water!
The video is titled ‘Shia LaBeouf is a Complete Idiot.’ Because things escalate quickly on the internet.
If you ask us, we think that here we have a guy who started out with an idea- trying to do something good. But with the flow of things came aggression and well, where he should have put his foot down and focused on just the message, he gave in to the violent nature of it and the situation blew out of proportion because he was supposed to be their ‘leader.’ Not just an angry white millionaire in a homeless beard yelling at people. This is simply not how you lead any protest.
